Mardi Gras Decorators recently had
the privilege to restore Mr. Bingle to his original glory for
City Park in New Orleans. He made his grand debut at the 2005
Celebration in the Oaks event and now graces each holiday
season for what New Orleanians hope will be generations to
come.
Mardi Gras Decorators’ portfolio for Celebration in the Oaks
also includes two 23-foot bas-relief fiberglass angels that
welcome park patrons at one of City Park’s entrances. Mardi
Gras decorators custom-designed these angels using foam,
fiberglass, and polyurethane to create a durable and lasting
product.
Rounding out Mardi Gras Decorators’ portfolio for Celebration
in the Oaks is a walk-through Christmas display. Mardi Gras
Decorators created La Maison Noel, a 16 ft. × 20 ft.
traditional-style French cottage with cedar shingles, windows,
and shutters.

La Maison Noel is decorated for
the seasons and includes traditional French furniture, a
candle lit tree and chandelier, a stone fireplace with
realistic flames, and a table decorated with food served at le
Réveillon, a French Christmas Eve feast. La Maison Noel also
contains an animatronic Pére Noël and a surround sound system
for narration and music.
Most recently, Mardi Gras
Decorators is helping restore storm-damaged Storyland and
Hines’ Carousel Gardens Amusement Park. The Storyland
restoration includes repainting and repairing existing
storybook characters and creating new larger-than-life
storybook character displays. |
The amusement park restoration includes custom designing and
painting signage for amusement park rides and directional
information. Mardi Gras Decorators is proud to be a part of
this historic restoration of one of New Orleans children’s
favorite destinations.
